Columbia/Tristar to release Once Upon a Time in China saga on DVD as three-disc set
Columbia/Tristar plans to release parts 1, 2, and 3 of Once Upon a Time in China (one of the all-time great Hong Kong action sagas) as a three-disc set. Directed by Tsui Hark and starring Jet Li, these films follow the exploits of legendary folk-hero and martial arts master Wong Fei Hung (Jet Li). Set in the turbulent world of 19th-century China, Master Wong Fei-Hung finds himself in conflict with encroaching Westernization and the future of China.
All three films come with multiple soundtracks--Cantonese, Mandarin, and English dubbed--and several subtitle choices (English, French, and Spanish). In addition, all three DVDs are presented in widescreen format (aspect ratio: 2.35:1).
DVD release date: July 10, 2001.
