Paramount has announced that the complete Godfather saga will be released on DVD this fall as a five-disc box set. Director Francis Ford Coppola has provided audio commentaries for each film. Additional extras will include a "making of" documentary titled "The Godfather Family: A Look Inside" (73 min.) plus an original 1971 featurette; deleted footage, including the additional scenes originally contained in the re-edited 1977 The Godfather Saga; trailers; "Francis Coppola's Notebook"; production stills and storyboards; cast/crew biographies; segments on Gordon Willis' cinematography, Nino Rota and Carmine Coppola's music, Francis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo's screenplays; rehearsal footage; Corleone family tree; Godfather timeline; and Academy Award acceptance speeches.

Look for this box set to carry a hefty price tage, in the $90 to $100 range.

Release date for both DVDs: October 9, 2001.
